University scholarships

Undergraduate & postgraduate

Look for international merit awards, bursaries and research funding on your chosen university’s official website. Some awards are considered automatically; others require a separate application.

Know what is covered

Three ways funding can work.

Tuition discounts

A fixed amount or percentage is deducted from tuition. Check whether the award applies to one year or the full degree and what grades you must maintain.

Comprehensive awards

Some awards include tuition and a living allowance. Read the coverage carefully: dependants, travel, insurance and other costs may be limited or excluded.

Research funding

Research students may find scholarships, studentships or assistantships. Availability depends on the project, supervisor, institution and funding conditions.

Prepare a stronger application

Keep your funding file organised.

  1. Check eligibility before writing

Record nationality, degree level, subject, grade, test and experience requirements. Separate scholarships you qualify for from those you still need to investigate.

  2. Build a deadline calendar

Track the scholarship deadline separately from university admission. Allow time for referees, tests, transcripts and any required nomination.

  3. Make your evidence specific

Prepare transcripts, a focused CV, references and a statement linking your achievements to your study and career plans. Answer each award’s actual selection questions.

  4. Keep a realistic funding plan

Record what each award covers and the remaining amount you would need. Do not treat a submitted application as confirmed funding for tuition or visa purposes.

A little more clarity

Questions students ask

Can StudyIn-AUS guarantee a scholarship?

No. The awarding body decides eligibility and selection. We can help you research opportunities, organise documents and prepare a clear application.

Is a scholarship application the same as a university application?

Not always. Some university awards are automatic, while others require a separate form or an admission offer first. Follow the instructions for each award.

Can a scholarship be used as visa funding evidence?

An official award may be relevant evidence, but the visa authority decides what is acceptable. Check the award’s amount, duration, covered costs and any remaining funding requirements.

Your next step

Make funding part of the plan.

Discuss your intended course, study level and budget so you can research suitable funding alongside your university shortlist.
